Girija Subramaniam, P.E. gave a talk on “A cross-disciplinary approach to innovation – Applying new technologies for Smart Transportation“ on September 15th, 2021. The talk was presented via a WebEx Virtual Meeting.
Speaker Biography: Girija Subramaniam, PE is a Senior Telecommunications Engineer and Entrepreneur whose experience spans Satellite systems, VoIP, Switching, Signal Processing and Vital safety-radio communications. Girija has over 20 years of combined experience in pre-sales, solution architecture, specialist consulting, deployment, system integration, testing, and software requirements-capture/definition and Tier 3 customer support. Her work experience spans Fortune 500 companies as well as startups at the growth and expansion stage. Since 2011 Girija has been serving as an SME in the transportation industry for trackside and on-board integration of wired and wireless systems. In 2015, she formed Forcing Function company for providing smart solutions and applying new technologies to the transportation sector. She is currently using her unique cross disciplinary experience to collaborate with startups and research agencies to research and design solutions for railroad systems. She is currently serving as President-Elect/Social Media Chair, for the Maryland Society of Professional Engineers, Potomac Chapter.
